As well as being like an end point to the GR65 pilgrim route, this town is a popular starting point for pilgrims and longwalkers on the Camino de Santiago de Compostela. Nestled in the Pyrenees, pilgrims depart and climb upwards towards the French/Spanish border, then the hamlet of Roncesvalles, Navarre, Spain, then on for the month-long walk to Santiago.
