GR 65 Le-Puy-en-Velay Cathedrale Notre-Dame du Puy watercolour postcard
Hand-sketched watercolour reproduced on a high quality, 300gsm, 35% cotton, A6 postcard.
Looking west out of the archway of the Cathedrale Notre-Dame du Puy, it is hard to imagine that you may be tracing the steps the bishop of Le Puy took in 951. He was the first recorded pilgrim to Santiago de Compostela. The steps of the cathedrale give a birds-eye view of the rooftops of townhouses below and further to fields and farmhouses, usually captured by camera in a familiar pilgrim souvenir. My gite, Relais du Pelerin Saint Jacques, literally around the corner, hid behind an ancient stone facade and collected characters from every corner of the world, about to embark on their own journey, via Podiensis.
